Hidden Emperor - 'Jade' With Jade Edition, L5R introduced the concept of 'arc legality'.Newly printed cards were now marked with a 'Jade bug'. This allowed tournament rules to limit the card base allowed to be used: either 'Strict Jade' in which only cards with the bug were legal or 'Extended Jade' in which all Actions, Followers, Items, Kihos, and Regions were legal but all other types were. The franchise was acquired by Fantasy Flight Games, with the revised edition slated to be released in 2017. It has been changed from a collectable card game to a living card game (so no random elements or card packs), meaning the sole survivor of the Magic: The Gathering wars has now fallen.
The Fourth Edition of L5R is the ultimate edition of the award-winning role-playing game. Inside this tome you will find: A game unlike any you've played elsewhere. Honor and service are valued more than magic swords taken from wandering ogres. Prepare for the glorious life of the samurai! A unique, comprehensive character sheet.

L5r 4th Edition Character Creation
Hello everyone
That's been a while since the last time I posted here .
I plan to run an emerald magistrates campaign next year. But as this kind of campaign is a classic L5R So.. I admit I never run one before ^^.
So i wonder if newly created characters can be Emerald Magistrates just after character creation or should they begin yorikis then becomes magistrates ?
Second question: i have poured over Imperial Histories 1 and 2 to find the most interesting era to play Emerald Magistrates, what's your take on it ?
